The Long Term Care Ombudsman Program of Greater Saint Louis and Northeast Missouri (LTCOP) -- a United Way agency -- is part of a nationwide program which began in 1971 in response to public outcry over abuse and neglect in long-term care facilities. LTCOP is the area's premiere advocacy organization in protecting the rights of residents in long-term care facilities and provides support and counseling to individuals, families, and professional caregivers on long-term care needs. The organization is now known as VOYCEstl [Website]
